Rachel: bug in simulated yields for multiple detector types

Postby hayes » Fri Jun 10, 2011 11:34 am

Rachel versions beta 2.0.* have a bug in the simulated yields calculations when using multiple Ge detector types. (Two "types" differ in Gosia if the geometry or distance from the target differ.)

If two types of Ge detectors have different solid angles, there will be a systematic error between their simulated yields proportional to the ratio of the solid angles of the two detectors.

The total counts predicted by the simulated yields function ("measured counts") are correct and represent the total number of p-gamma events as they would be corrected for the absolute efficiency and solid angle.

A notice will be posted when this bug is fixed.
